LISA BANKERT has a diverse resume of career experience that encompasses professional theatre and film, literary arts and corporate communications and marketing. She began her career in theatre in the Washington DC area, including several years at Olney Theatre Center, before moving to New York City and then Hollywood to work as a casting director and script consultant for independent and studio films.

She worked on feature film productions for Paramount Pictures, Miramax Films, Universal Pictures and Neo Art & Logic, providing casting services for film directors Matthew Broderick (Infinity), Sean Penn (The Crossing Guard), Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused), Frank A. Cappello (No Way Back) and Gregory Widen (The Prophecy) among others.

Lisa also has extensive corporate communications and marketing experience with Fortune 500 companies, Host Marriott Corporation and America Online, Inc.

She is the founder/president and senior editor of Pinestein Press, a small-press publishing company that produces literary and learning materials for children; and she writes and edits educational materials for Purun New York, Inc. and Pearson Education, Inc.

Lisa has been affiliated with the Lake Worth Playhouse since 2006, originally as a volunteer and, as of September 2008, as full-time director of public relations and marketing. She has written two plays performed on the Playhouse stage – Stella’s Wish and Once Upon a Holiday. She co-directed the 2009 production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, and she worked on production staff for Big River (2008), Modern Orthodox (2008), Hollywood Arms (2007), Fiddler on the Roof (2007), the LWP Annual Awards Show (2007, 2008), and several productions of Playhouse variety shows, (Take the Stage) and Playhouse improv shows (Night of a Gazillion Laughs).

She studied Radio, Television and Film (RTVF) for two years at the University of Maryland before earning her B.A. degree in Arts & Sciences from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where she majored in theatre and minored in English.

Lisa is a longstanding member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators and a proud member of the board of directors for the Deaf Service Center of Palm Beach County.
